Roving Curators
This program gives museums, galleries, and collections access to our museum professionals for up to 25 days.
Before making an application, you need to contact our Roving Curators to discuss the planned activity.

This round supports activities after 1 March 2026.
We will contact you about your organisation’s application within ten weeks of the closing date.

- Eligibility
- manages publicly owned, publicly accessible, permanent collections of movable cultural heritage objects or artworks; and,
- has (or is working towards) regular opening hours.
- Assessment
- Is the activity conceptually strong?
- Why is the activity important?
- Are the people involved experienced, or show the potential to develop and grow?
- Is the activity financially feasible?
- Is the timeline reasonable and achievable?
- What partnerships are in place to help the activity?
- How does the proposed activity benefit the applicant, the artist, or the community?
- What is the audience experience?
Eligibility
As the applicant, your organisation must be a Tasmanian museum, gallery or collection that:
Privately owned collections, federal government collections, Tasmanian Government Business Enterprises and Tasmanian Government Departments are not eligible for the program.
Your organisation must also meet Arts Tasmania’s general eligibility requirements.

Your organisation can apply for up to 25 days of access to Roving Curator support.
Assessment
Applications will be assessed by a museum and cultural heritage panel using the criteria of:
