The Tasmanian Government has assumed a caretaker role ahead of the election for the Tasmanian House of Assembly. It is important during this time that Tasmanian Government resources are not used to communicate political material. As such, no political or election material will be placed on this site.

Arts Tasmania

How decisions are made

Once you submit your application to Arts Tasmania, it is reviewed by the grants team and sent to peer assessors for review.

Arts Tasmania uses peer assessors from the Cultural and Creative Industries Expert Register. Peer assessors are people who work in or are engaged with the arts sector such as artists, administrators, or other sector professionals.

The peers review and rank every eligible application against the criteria and meet to discuss the applications. The peers then make a recommendation to the Minister for the Arts or their delegate, who makes decisions which activities to support based on that recommendation.

All applicants will receive notification of the outcome of their applications, whether successful or not.
