Advice for future applicants
Clarity and artistic vision
- Explain in plain English what your organisation does and what makes its work distinctive.
- Set out the artistic or curatorial thinking behind your program, not just the activities.
- Show your full annual program and funding context, rather than a single event or activity.
- Explain how you will select artists and participants.
Financial planning
- Provide a detailed budget that justifies each cost, including artist fees at industry rates.
- Include contingency plans for any income that is not yet confirmed.
- Show how you are building income from sources other than Arts Tasmania.
- Check that your request meets the program's eligibility requirements, including limits on grant funding as a share of your total budget.
Capacity and governance
- Include short biographies of your board and leadership team, rather than referring peers to your website.
- Show how your team will manage the workload, especially if you are a small team or your program is growing.
Evidence and support material
- Choose your support material carefully. Provide key documents as separate files, link directly to relevant work rather than a general websites, and check that every link works.
- Include signed letters of confirmation from the people and organisations named in your application. Each letter should confirm their role in your proposed activities.
- Provide evidence of reach, impact and demand that goes beyond attendance figures.
