Tasmanian Aboriginal Arts Mentorship Scheme 2024-25
This program supports young and emerging Tasmanian Aboriginal arts and cultural practitioners to undertake projects that enable them to further their careers, enrich their artistic practice and contribute to Tasmania's arts sector.
A delegate of the Minister for the Arts has approved funding of $30,000 for three (3) activities in this round.

Feedback from the expert peers
The peers discussed the overall quality of the applications made to this round and noted that the stronger applications:
- paired young and/or emerging Aboriginal practitioners with more experienced or established First Nations mentors where possible
- clearly outlined the links between the artists involved and the Aboriginal community
- included a detailed plan for the mentorship, including information around proposed goals and possible outcomes
- spoke to how the mentorship would benefit the applicant’s practice in both the short and long term
- included letters of confirmation from proposed mentors that clarified whether they would be paid for their time with grant funds, or whether an in-kind agreement was in place
- included other relevant support material such as letters of support from appropriate members of the Tasmanian Aboriginal community and clearly labelled and accessible artistic support material (that wasn’t behind paywalls).
