Aboriginal Arts Program 2024-25 & 2025-26
This program invests in the continued development of contemporary Aboriginal Arts, traditional arts, craft, and cultural practices in Tasmania.
A delegate of the Minister for the Arts has approved funding of $120,333 for five (5) activities in these rounds.
Funding recommendations were made by expert peers drawn from the Cultural and Creative Industries Expert Register.

Feedback from the expert peers
The peers discussed the overall quality of the applications made to this round and noted that the stronger applications:
- included Aboriginal people in key creative roles and were strongly focused on providing properly paid artistic opportunities for Aboriginal people of varied career stages
- clearly outlined the links between the artists involved and the Aboriginal community
- included opportunities for professional development and/or skills development, alongside creative activities
- explored how the proposed activity would engage with and benefit Aboriginal people
- were supported by letters from appropriate members of the Tasmanian Aboriginal community that showed genuine relationships to the applicant, and an understanding of the proposed activity
- clear and thorough budgets with narrations around how costs were calculated
- evidence of plans to seek income from a variety of other sources to make activities viable
- clearly labelled and accessible artistic support material (that wasn’t behind paywalls).
