The poems in Curving into Light are haiku. They are small snapshots of nature grounded in the Australian landscape. In this book you will journey through the outback, and visit oceans and waterways. You will get close to wildlife and wander through the cool climate of Tasmania. Divided into four sections, the haiku are placed one or two to a page, allowing the reader quiet contemplation.
About the author
Lorraine Haig has been writing haiku and other forms of Japanese poetry for 20 years. Her poems have featured in journals and anthologies worldwide. Curving into Light is her first book of haiku and was published by Forty South in 2023. Lorraine’s other publications are An Ocean of Sky, Burringbah Books, 2014 and Paddling the Canoe, Ginninderra Press, 2021.
