Awards and prizes

The Clarence Prize for Excellence in Furniture Design
A biennial prize which aims to promote excellence in furniture design. The prize consists of a major $20,000 acquisitive prize and two $1,500 non-acquisitive encouragement awards.

Tasmanian Craft Fair Awards
The Tasmanian Craft Fair presents a range of awards each year, recognising excellence in the field of crafts and arts.

A monthly newsletter highlighting the latest Tasmanian, national and international arts opportunities as well as industry news.

ArtsHub
A subscription based, online resource for Australian arts workers that includes news, opportunities and job listings.

Australian Design Unit (ADU)
A part-magazine, part-bulletin and part-business resource for the design community. The ADU toolkit provides access to free business tools to assist the day-to-day running of a creative business.

Craft
Dedicated to supporting, presenting, and producing craft and design-focused creative practices.

Design Council UK
Offers comprehensive information and resources for designers.

Design Museum
The Design Museum is devoted to contemporary design in every form, from architecture and fashion to graphics, product and industrial design.

Hand Papermaking
A non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing traditional and contemporary ideas in the art of hand papermaking, through publications and other educational formats.

Membership organisations and peak bodies

Australian Graphic Design Association
The peak national organisation for professional graphic designers, which manages a program of awards, exhibitions, seminars and professional development activities for its members.

Craft Victoria
Fosters creativity, experimentation and professionalism in contemporary craft and design. The organisation enhances awareness of Australian craft and design at state, national and international levels.

Design Institute of Australia
A professional membership body for designers and design businesses providing support, networking, services and information to improve professional practice.

Designed Objects Tasmania
Provides studio space, workshops facilities with specialist equipment, mentoring by some of Tasmania’s most experienced timber designer makers, exhibitions, professional development opportunities and scholarships.

Design Tasmania
A not-for-profit organisation in Launceston that is home to the Design Tasmania Wood Collection, a contemporary craft and design-focused exhibitions program and Tasmania's largest shop dedicated to Tasmanian design.

Decoration + Design
Brings together the most exciting range of soft furnishing and interior suppliers from around Australia and the world.

Domaine de Boisbuchet
An international cultural centre in south-west France, which hosts a series of residency workshops led by renowned international designers, architects and artists.

International Council of Graphic Design Associations
The world body for professional communication design, which promotes the designers’ vital role in society and commerce, and unifies the voices of graphic designers and visual communicators worldwide.

Jam Factory
Adelaide’s Jam Factory supports and promotes outstanding design and craftsmanship through its widely acclaimed studios, galleries and shop.

Life Instyle
A unique trade-only event dedicated to showcasing premium, design-led products. It includes an exhibition space called First Instyle intended to foster new and emerging talent.

Tasmanian Craft Fair
Australia’s largest working craft fair, held annually in Deloraine, Tasmania.
