The Vita Brown Bequest Bursary

Vita Ethel Brown (11 October 1916 – 15 December 2012) generously bequeathed funds to Arts Tasmania to assist emerging or returning artists to purchase equipment or materials.

Two bursaries of $1 000 will be offered in 2020.

Notification will occur within six weeks of the closing date.

    • Tasmanian artists who have spent less than two years working professionally in an artform
    • Tasmanian artists who have been absent from professional practice for the last two consecutive years

    Applicants must meet Arts Tasmania’s general eligibility requirements

    What can I apply for?

    The Vita Brown Bequest Bursary provides funding towards the purchase of essential materials and equipment.

    You may submit one application to this program per calendar year.

    How much can I apply for?

    Two bursaries will be offered each year. Each bursary is valued at $1 000.
