FIND Contemporary Jewellery Collective Bursary 2020-21

This program helps emerging and mid-career contemporary jewellers to undertake professional development activities.

It is offered in partnership with the FIND Contemporary Jewellery Collective.

Funding recommendations were made by expert peers drawn from the Cultural and Creative Industries Expert Register.

Grants

A delegate of the Minister for the Arts has approved a bursary of $1 000 through this round to Loretta Milazzo towards marketing and social media coaching.

Feedback from the expert peers

The peers gave the following feedback to help current and future applicants:

  • the peers encouraged all applicants - particularly artists applying for the first time – to contact Arts Tasmania for information before applying for a grant
  • the peers recommended that applicants clearly explain the rationale behind the proposed activity or purchase. Stronger applications showed a clear need for the bursary and how it would support the applicants practice into the future
  • stronger applications in this round included letters of support which spoke to the criteria of quality and benefit
  • the peers noted that letters of support should be recent and relevant to the application.
