Vita Brown Bequest Bursary 2018
Vita Ethel Brown (11 October 1916 – 15 December 2012) generously bequeathed funds to Arts Tasmania "to make a grant to assist two or more emerging artists to purchase materials provided always that the artist chosen shall be justified by their work."
The following artists have been awarded the Vita Brown Bequest Bursary for 2018.
Rachel Meyers is a musician who is returning to her professional practice after an absence. The bursary will help her purchase music notation software that will enable her to undertake more complex arrangements.
Rodney Gardner is an emerging visual artist working primarily in watercolour. Rodney will use the bursary to purchase lightweight easels that will allow him to work in a variety of locations and produce works of a larger scale.
