New Education Residencies program

Monday, 23 October 2017

We are excited to unveil our new Education Residencies program as part of the Tasmanian Government’s Youth Arts Program announced in the 2017 -18 State Budget.

The Education Residencies provide an opportunity for artists to focus on their practice in an educational environment working alongside teachers and students. Residencies build young people’s capacity to engage with the arts whilst enhancing student social health and wellbeing. They allow artists to inspire, reconnect or introduce teachers to new ideas and approaches.

In 2018 four residencies of $10 000 are available to professional Tasmanian artists at schools around the state.

Other residencies available through Arts Tasmania include Tasmanian Residencies and the Claudio Alcorso International Residency.

Applications for Education Residencies close 8 November. For program information and applications see www.arts.tas.gov.au/education_residencies
