The Arts Get Resourceful

A new, electronic professional development package, arts-e resources, has been created to support the continued growth of all sectors of the Tasmanian arts community.

Launching the new resource today, the Minister for Environment, Parks, Heritage and the Arts, Michelle O'Byrne, said arts-e resources is an initiative of arts@work, the industry development arm of Arts Tasmania.

"arts-e resources aims to assist artists and organisations across all artforms, regardless of their location, to develop their skills, connections, profiles and business practices," Ms O'Byrne said.

"This is a free resource to help the strong and creative arts industry right across the state grow and develop."

arts-e resources contains more than 400 links to online resources in the areas of business, marketing, governance, financial support, residencies, design, literature, music, performing arts and visual arts.

Ms O'Byrne said the package demonstrates the diversity of funding options available to the arts, highlights industry prizes, awards, opportunities and trade fairs, makes note of key organisations and peak bodies and provides a developmental pathway for emerging artists.

The arts-e resources package can be downloaded from this website.

It contains a quick reference menu and links to all resources. Artists and arts organisations are encouraged to keep it on their computer desktops.

Quarterly updates to arts-e resources will include relevant suggestions made by members of Tasmania's arts industry.
