The arts@work Team Introduces Some New Faces and Some New Positions
The new team at arts@work is almost complete with a range of new faces and new positions having come on board over the last few weeks.
They are:
Nic Goodwolf who is in charge of the Art in Public Buildings Scheme. Nic will be known to many of you as a well respected practising print artist whose work appears in collections around the world.
Belinda Robertson who has been appointed to the newly created position of corporate art officer. Belinda has a strong background in indigenous art and will be working to extend the idea of the Art in Public Buildings Scheme to the corporate sector and to local government.
Jana Harper is the new Northern officer, based at Northern Tasmania Development. Trained in photography with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UTAS, Jana has strong business skills and wide ranging experience in the North and North East of the state.
Wendy Morrow has taken up the new role of professional development officer and is busy researching and auditing current programs and opportunities that exist across the state. Wendy moved for the job from Canberra where she has been working extensively in the development of pathways in the performing arts.
Shiloh Isham, administrative assistant, is the smiling new face you see when you come into the office. Shiloh has an Honours degree in Philosophy and an unflappable ability to deal with many things at the same time.
Manager of arts@work, Fiona Barber, said she is delighted with the new team.
"There is a great energy around arts@work with a range of fresh ideas that come with the introduction of new perspectives and new experiences. I have only been here 10 months but I am now the second longest serving staff member!" Fiona said.
"It is invaluable to have the corporate knowledge remaining in Shannon Challis, our special projects officer, who has been with us for three years and who provides a clear contextual perspective."
"We expect to advertise our North West position in the next couple of weeks. This role has been restructured to include duties for arts@work as well as Arts Tasmania, the first time that Arts Tas will have and a presence on the NW Coast" added Fiona.
"Once we have filled that position we will have a full compliment and the ability to deliver on the new programs and projects that we are developing."
