spaceBank takes off

You may recall the survey that some of you completed at the end of last year about your access to studio spaces (or the lack thereof), amenities and facilities that you would require in a work space, desirable location, etc..

Well the results are in and as a consequence arts@work and AbaF are developing a new program called spaceBank. The concept is simple. We will list available spaces that are suitable for a range of artistic purposes on our website. The listing will provide enough details to enable you to make a decision as to whether to make further enquiries about the space. You do this directly with the listed contact - usually the building owner or manager. From there on all your contact is with them.

There are a few spaces currently on the website at www.arts.tas.gov.au/opportunities/spaceBank

More will come in the following weeks with greater detail as we formalise the spaceBank program.

Do you have an available space?

spaceBank is a statewide program so if you have a space that is available and could be suitable as an artist's studio, workshop, rehearsal room, band room… whatever….please download the spaceBank form from www.arts.tas.gov.au/opportunities/spaceBank, complete and email to Lisa Morris:lisa.morris@artsatwork.com.au

In the meantime arts@work and AbaF will be doing work behind the scenes with the Property Council, real estate agents, developers etc.. This, combined with the knowledge that you have as artists working out in the community will hopefully bring to the fore more spaces for the creation of art.

Please note spaceBank does not promote residency opportunities.
