Action in the North West
A new arts@work project is brewing in the North West with the help of our two new Program Officers based in Burnie.
The research project aims to evaluate which type of commercial outcomes are most attractive to arts practitioners in the NW and how arts@work can help to facilitate successful commercial relationships which suit both maker and seller.
"A number of stakeholders in the NW are keen to develop relationships with artists who want to promote and sell locally-made artisan product and artwork" said NW Program Officer Joanna Gair.
"The aim of this project is to improve sustainability for NW Tasmanian artists and assist our artists to achieve commercial goals, whilst supporting wider cultural tourism issues in the region."
In the first instance respondents will be asked to complete a detailed questionnaire which will help to develop a picture of the the needs of those involved. arts@work will then use this information to create an action plan designed to support NW artists interested in exploring this path.
The questionnaire can be downloaded by clicking here or you can request a hard copy from Joanna Gair or Marisol Moakes on 03 6431 6285.
