Parklands High

The Tasmanian Government Art Site Scheme Commission

Artwork                   A series of free standing sculptural artworks
Project number                   A-522-2015
Artwork budget                   $71 000 + GST
Location                   Parklands High School, Burnie

Expressions of interest are sought from contemporary artists to create a series of freestanding sculptural forms that act as way finders for visitors, leading them from the car park area to the front entrance of the new Performing Arts Centre.

The school would like the artworks to be a beautiful addition to the courtyard area and help to highlight and activate the spaces around the Performing Arts Centre. Many of the functions at the centre will be held at night time, opening up the possibility of the artworks incorporating a lighting or projection element.
