The Minister for the Arts

The Honourable Lara Giddings, MP, is the Premier, Treasurer and Minister for the Arts.

Within the Arts portfolio, Minister Giddings has responsibility for the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, the Theatre Royal, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, and other cultural institutions for Tasmania.

Under the Tasmanian Arts Advisory Board Act (1975) the Minister can provide financial assistance to organisations and individuals, as recommended by the Tasmanian Arts Advisory Board.
