An Island Inspired
An Island Inspired was a discussion paper published by the Tasmanian Minister for the Arts in 2007 and was aimed at exploring new directions in the arts for Tasmania. It was a significant paper for the development of the arts in Tasmania written to coincide with a significant increase in funding to the arts by the Tasmanian Government. It proposed an overarching vision and goals, and input from the sector to support this.
The outcomes were implemented in 2008 by the Tasmanian Arts Advisory Board and administered by Arts Tasmania. Amongst these was the establishment of the Premier’s Arts Partnership Fund (2008-2014), delivered with the former Australia Business Arts Foundation and corporate partners; and the Aboriginal Arts Fund which is still offered today.
